Radio Lab episode, Escape!, this is one darn good (and touching) hour of escapism. Chris’ skills reminded me a bit of I Love You Phillip Morris (a must see).

I love Presidents (most of them), and I love holidays (all of them). Ergo, I pout because I sit here in this lame swivel chair dreaming of a day well spent in jammies with the boob-tube. My daydream way to spend this holiday that I don’t have would be to embrace doing nothing to the extreme and the least productive way to spend my day would be to RE-watch cancelled shows. Oh what could have...

I read this article yesterday which was a great, real-life story of what one pay-it-forward action was able to do.

From Sagebrush to Steppe wbez has been repeating this Third Coast Festival story like woah but every time it’s on I get sucked back into it. The music is great and the ending gets me a bit misty-eyed each time. I guess I’m a sucker for sentimental cowboys.

At 90, Fashion’s Latest Pop Star side note, this must be what I look like to male bar-goers who are befuddled by a need to wear glasses to the bar. Somehow they don’t understand why poor eye-sight would carry on after 7pm.

The Groupon Guide to: Urban Murals
Urban murals are the best art because they’re the biggest art. Here are some of the most inspiring scenes that can be found in every urban mural:
• Children with huge smiles full of music notes instead of teeth
• Citizens of all races holding hands in a chain to block a bulldozer that is approaching a hospital
• A crack in the sidewalk—inside it,...

During the extreme flooding in Pakistan millions of spiders climbed trees to avoid rising water. Now tons of these trees are encapsulated by spider webs. Wild stuff.

This morning was rough. I hit snooze every 5 minutes for 40 minutes and then laid in bed debating a sick day. Running very late 40 minutes later I slipped on ice and spilled my coffee. Some biotch shoved me aside on the train to prove that she was willing to scoot further back than I was. ‘Twas a rough morning and I contemplated turning back towards home at least 4 times. Then the clouds...

I could not leave Grantham. I had finally been hooked to one of the 50 TV shows that follow around the filthy rich doing nothing…In fact, in season one, the only thing the women of Downton Abbey actually do for themselves is apply handcream. I think there is at least one hand cream application scene in every episode.
Whether they are getting dressed for a day of doing nothing, or...

Chinese New Year comes in with a roar today kicking off the year of the Dragon in all of its fiery glory. To start the year off right, it is best not to tempt fate and abide by these age-old Chinese superstitions, at least for today.
Put the broom down. If you sweep today you’ll brush away good fortune.
Don’t give anyone a cent. If you lend anything you are setting yourself up to let people...
