Ameena Matthews, a violence interrupter with the Chicago organization CeaseFire, mediates disputes to prevent gang violence from escalating. My main gal Terry interviewed Steve James, director of Hoop Dreams, and Ameena Matthews back in August and is re-airing the show today. The Interrupters debuts on Frontline next Tuesday which I wrote about in this post, and yes, you must watch.
